Details
The speed sensor senses how fast the speedometer magnet shaft is turning, with relation to possible pollution control. This was a failed attempt for improved emissions that was eventually discontinued. The sensor appears as a connector behind the dash and plugs into an opening in the back of the speedometer. Besides El Camino, this part fits Monte Carlo 82-88 and 108 GM models including Cavalier, Caprice, Chevette, Cadet, Impala, Citation, Malibu and many trucks.
